Ill Effects Of Leukemia And The Precautionary Measures That Should Be Taken

Leukemia is a form of illness that has its own set of reasons for its existence even though there is still a lot of speculation about its origin. It is fairly common in the regions where people are more exposed to harmful radiations and chemicals. Chemicals that are used to kill pests, insects and other undesired organisms, additives present in the consumable goods and the preservatives are known to be some of the reasons that can lead to leukemia. As it is known, this is one of the many types of cancers that can affect a human.

Like everything known to man, there are a set of facts associated with leukemia. They are specific to this chromic disease but are not known about. It is in the best of interests for everyone who has someone or the other in their relationship suffering from this problem to know about them. There are certain measures that should be taken to reduce the effects of leukemia if not eliminate it completely. Take for instance the food habits. The items which help reduce the effects of leukemia as far as the food items are concerned include fruits like the grapes and the bananas. In the vegetable arena, one can consume items of the likes of spinach and carrots which have abundant amounts of vitamins. The consumption of such entities help the body by providing it with what would otherwise be made available by the doctors in the form of medicines.

The measures that are prescribed by the doctors include therapies which are meant to kill all the harmful cells in the body. Unfortunately, these treatments and therapies are not hundred percent effective with no improvements being noticed in certain cases. This comes along with the fact that there are a lot of side effects that come with them. The patient becomes very weak immediately after the treatment. In the case of chemotherapy, the subject would face loss of all the rapidly growing cells which would lead to low immunity and hair loss. At times they may feel nausea and irritation. Not only are these but they expensive and prolonged too. Under normal circumstances, a person would need to undergo 6 instances of chemotherapy over a period of 2 to 3 yrs with each instance having a cost of more than $500.

It is best to take all the preventive measures to keep oneself safe from such a problem. Because leukemia is related to the blood, there is a necessity to reduce the intake of items such as alcohol which directly mix with the blood stream. Smoking too is harmful along with the consumption of products which are unhygienic and unhealthy. Just as in the case of various other forms of cancer, there is a need to be fit with a lot of physical work being put in to increase the inner strength of the body. The immunity strength of the human body is directly related to the kind of environment and the kinds of habits experienced and followed respectively by the individuals.
